On Thursday 11, Chris Davies MP asked what steps the Government is taking to help elderly people in rural areas learn digital skills. Digital Minister Margot James MP highlighted the digital inclusion innovation fund. Kevin Hollinrake MP highlighted a recent letter, signed by 80 MPs, asking the Culture Secretary Jeremy Wright about roaming across networks in rural areas. Wright replied by saying that all mobile network operators have an obligation to improve rural coverage and said that if they do not improve he is ‘perfectly prepared to entertain rural roaming as a way in which it might be done’.
