Newcastle University set to host event to help develop rural communities

The National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise is holding a session titled 'Community visioning in rural areas: Sharing best practice' at the Cheviot Centre later this month, after a successful session last month in Hexham

NICRE is based at Newcastle University and combines academic research with practical application to find new ways of fostering rural enterprise and unlocking the potential of rural economies.

The centre hopes to bring those involved in community-based organisations, people working in community development and planning, and local and regional government to strengthen networks and partnerships.

Newcastle University academics will present on current policy and give research insights on tools and methods for engaging communities, while all parties will have a chance to share their experiences and perspectives.
