'Lack of interest' in return of West Yorkshire rural forum from local leaders

The Yorkshire Post reports that Councillor Stewart Golton and Liberal Democrat John Lawson collaborated on a letter sent to West Yorkshire Combined Authority board members, in hopes to reunite the West Yorkshire Rural Partnership group due to recent success of similar organisations in other parts of Yorkshire

Despite receiving the letter, no response was offered by board members implying a lack of interest. Officials say the rural forum could make a real impact in preparing rural areas to fully connect to urban communities with a cooperative and co-dependent strategy that achieves inclusive and sustainable growth for mutual benefit.

It may also become particularly important as West Yorkshire aims to become carbon neutral in the next two decades.
