Rural Lens Review of Levelling Up White Paper

The Government recently published the long awaited White Paper on Levelling Up.  This lengthy document has been reviewed by RSN to highlight key elements that will impact on rural communities, or to highlight areas where rural is not mentioned but particular policy areas should have been considered.

We are today publishing an individual Rural Lens review of Chapters 1, 2 and 3 of the Levelling Up White Paper.

We have also published an overall review and critique of the overarching rural issues and actions proposed.

The RSN believes that the country needs a strategy that recognises the economic and social benefits of delivering levelling up in rural areas: without such recognition, rural England will be overlooked, by passed and pushed down further rather than levelled up.

Such a strategy needs to be delivered across departments and focused on genuinely levelling up and revitalising rural areas and economies.
