Rural and seaside property boom eclipsing 2019 levels despite pandemic

WalesOnline reports that property sales this year in popular rural and seaside locations across the UK have already surpassed the number of transactions seen across the whole of 2019

Rightmove identified 16 locations where the number of sales agreed by estate agents in 2020 so far has already overtaken the total for all of 2019.

The rapid increase of sales compared with 2019 reflects the changes in consumer habits as more home-movers aim to escape crowded city areas to move to the country where they are hoping for more space.

The report outlines how pockets of Essex, in particular, are a popular choice for buyers, with Shenfield, Kirby Cross and Stanway experiencing double-figure sales increases compared with the whole of 2019.

Rightmove revealed however that there are no areas of London where sales numbers have overtaken 2019's full-year figures yet.
