North Yorkshire pilots dial-a-bus service to improve rural rides

An on-demand bus service that allows users to choose when and where they want to travel will be piloted in North Yorkshire from 1 July, according to Yorkshire Live

YorBus will be run by North Yorkshire County Council and will allow users to book via a dedicated app.

Once a desired pickup and drop-off location has been selected, riders will be directed to a nearby bus stop for pooled rides that reduce detours and also carbon emissions.

The paper explains how YorBus will complement and extend the existing public transport network in the region.

The mobile app will allow passengers to plan and track their bus journey.
