Housing department reveals 25 councils to share £3m local design code funding

Planning reports that the Government has awarded twenty-five areas across England a share of £3 million as part of the Government’s Design Code Pathfinder Programme to help draw up local design codes.
The programme aims to help shape new neighbourhoods, which will allow residents to have their say on the development of new homes, buildings and amenities, such as shops and workspaces in the area. Many of the projects will focus on regeneration and delivering thriving town centres and green infrastructure, such as new walking and cycle routes.
