Grants for rural living

A new grant opportunity for people to research best practice overseas aimed at improving rural life and enhance their sector on their return is available

A Churchill Fellowship funds people to travel for 4-8 weeks abroad, researching a topic of their own choice that can make a difference to their profession or community when they come home.

We are inviting applications in a dedicated ‘Rural living: strengthening countryside communities’ category, supported by the Prince’s Countryside Fund.

No qualifications are required. All UK citizens resident in the UK aged 18 and over are eligible to apply.

Applications must be made by 18 September 2018, for travel in 2019, and we would be hugely grateful if you could spread the word to colleagues and contacts in your network.

Here are some ways you can share the opportunity, before the deadline at 5pm on 18 September 2018:

  • Distribute our e-flyer (download it here).
  • Include an item in your newsletter (we can provide text).
  • Post on social media (we can provide example tweets).
  • Hand out our flyers at events (we can post them to you).

If you’d like to know more or to request any of the above, please do get in touch
