The Government’s response to the Consultation on Changes to the Current Planning System has now been published and there is some good news in terms of concerns raised by the RSN and other rural interest Groups.
The Government has decided not (for the moment) to raise the Affordable Housing Threshold to 40 dwellings.
It has confirmed that rural exception sites will remain a route to providing affordable housing in all rural areas.
The response also provides more details about the new Shared Ownership Model.
Follow this link to a more detailed Briefing Note on the Government’s response and rural implications prepared by Affordable Rural Housing Specialist Jo Lavis for which we are very grateful.
The RSN consulted widely with it's membership about the Governments original consultation on Changes to the Planning System and submitted a response on behalf of rural areas and the membership of the RSN.
