Do you have a young STAR to nominate?

Did you know that the average age of councillors in England is around 60 years old?  To recognise and celebrate the contributions of younger councillors, NALC has launched a Young Councillor of the Year award.  This category will recognise a councillor who was 30 or under when last elected and has contributed significantly to their community.

If you think you know someone who fits this criterion and should be recognised, simply fill in the entry form on the NALC website.  You will need to show exactly how your councillor has overcome challenges, managed projects and pushed boundaries to exceed expectations. NALC says it’s looking for young councillors who have “made a real impact and have gone above and beyond to serve their community.”

Anyone can nominate, including council members and the public but be quick, the deadline is Friday 28 July.
