Rural Households Invited to Share Views on Energy and Water Use

Rural households are being encouraged to take part in important new research from Rural England CIC, working with the University of Leicester, on how people in rural areas experience and manage their energy and water use.

The short online questionnaire on Energy and Water Use has now been extended until 24 October 2025, giving rural residents a little more time to share their views.

Why take part?

From 1 October, the UK energy price cap rose again, increasing average household bills by around £35 a year. But averages don’t always reflect the reality for rural households, where higher costs, limited supplier choice and insulation challenges can make a bigger impact.

By completing the questionnaire, you will help build a clearer evidence base for companies and policymakers to understand rural circumstances.

  • It takes around 15 minutes
  • The questionnaire is anonymous (postcode only)
  • New closing date: 24 October 2025

Please take part if you live in a rural area. Help spread the word by sharing the link within your networks, with neighbours, friends and local community groups. Your experience matters.
