Arrests made in county lines crackdown

The BBC reports that nearly 600 people suspected of being part of county lines drugs gangs have been arrested across the UK in an operation that took place between 13 and 20 May.

Police forces led by the National County Lines Coordination Centre also seized cocaine worth £176,780, along with £312,649 in cash and 46 weapons.

County lines drugs gangs travel out of urban areas to sell drugs in rural locations; most come from London, Birmingham and Merseyside to commit crimes in the surrounding areas.
