The event forms part of the Countryside COP.  Ahead of COP28 in UAE, Countryside COP will bring together spokespeople from farming, education, finance, research and more to discuss the role of UK agriculture and the rural economy in combatting climate change and improving sustainability.

Hosted by the Agriculture & Land Use Alliance, this is an inclusive way for those interested in the countryside to come together on key issues.

Kerry Booth, Chief Executive of the Rural Services Network said she was looking forward to lively debate at the session.

“Taking the time to discuss net zero from the perspective of rural areas and in particular ways of providing energy and heating to our homes is so important.  Rural areas with their abundance of natural assets are well placed to embrace the country’s transition to Net Zero and tackle biodiversity loss, and with government investment can deliver jobs in green growth sectors. Rural communities must benefit from schemes that are based within their area and not just be a location for urban solutions”.
