Area Forums & Seminars

The RSN organises an annual seminar programme which is free of charge to members. The events are intended to help Councils and Rural Services Partnership Members overcome some of the issues and challenges that they face in delivering services in rural places.

The Art, Culture, Landscapes, LOCAL AUTHORITIES and Geography seminar was held at South Holland Centre, Spalding on the 12th of March 2014 
The “The Unreachables” – Making Delivery Work Through Partnership Across the Rural/Urban Divide seminar was held at Cheshire East Council, Town Hall, Macclesfield, Cheshire SK10 1EA on the 11th of February 2014
The Approaches to Alternative Service Delivery seminar was held at Oxfordshire County Council, County Hall, New Road, Oxford on the 14th of January 2014

The Rural Youth seminar held at the Plymouth University, Babbage Building, Drake Circus, Plymouth on the 11 June 2013
Rural Deprivation and Inequalities seminar held at the Teesside University Darlington Campus, Vicarage Road, Darlington on the 21 May 2013
Transport in the Countryside – Scales and Perspectives held at the Business & Technology Centre, Stevenage on the 20 March 2013
RSN Market Town Seminar held at the Town Hall, Retford 24th January 2013
The RSN Coastal Seminar held at the Pavillion Theatre in Bournmouth on the 4th of December 2012.
OUR first seminar to address the issue of the rural-urban fringe was held at St Mary's Church, Sheffield, in October 2012.

Seminar Programme 2011-2012

At the point of going to press the Localism Bill is still working its way through Parliament, the Big Society, Localism and some of its more detailed key features such as the Right to Build and the Right to Run have stimulated huge debate within the public sector, this event provides an opportunity to get to the heart of the issues.

There have been major organizational and policy changes within the environmental agenda for local authorities and public bodies and this event will provide an opportunity to explore their different guises.
